About

Meet Jaquaya Bailey — Your Lactation Educator

Hi, I’m Jaquaya Bailey — a proud mom of three and a graduate of Drexel University’s Human Lactation program, preparing for my IBCLC certification. I’ve gained valuable clinical experience at CHOP NICU, St. Christopher’s Hospital Urban Child Center, Jefferson Health and North WIC. As a mother of two preemies, I understand firsthand the real-life challenges of feeding your baby.

At Latch It Up, my mission is to provide compassionate, inclusive lactation care that empowers you with practical knowledge and emotional support — no matter your background, family structure, or feeding choice.

Providing compassionate care in an inpatient clinical setting

Education- My Lactation Journey & Training

My passion for supporting families through their feeding journeys comes from both my personal experience as a mom and my formal education in lactation care.

I graduated from Drexel University’s Human Lactation program, where I received comprehensive training in breastfeeding physiology, counseling techniques, and clinical skills. This rigorous program prepared me to support families with a wide range of feeding goals and challenges.

My clinical experience spans several settings, including:

  • Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) — supporting premature and medically fragile infants

  • Labor and Delivery units — assisting new mothers in the first hours and days postpartum

  • NORTH WIC programs — empowering families with education and resources.

  • Facilitator for Moms support group

Continuing Education & Certification

I’m currently preparing to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), the gold standard certification for lactation professionals worldwide.

To stay current with the latest research and best practices, I regularly participate in continuing education through workshops, conferences, and professional organizations.

Commitment to Inclusive Care

Education is more than credentials — it’s a lifelong journey. I am dedicated to learning about diverse cultures, family structures, and feeding preferences to provide care that respects and honors every family’s unique story.

At Latch It Up, you’ll receive support grounded in science, enriched by empathy, and tailored to your individual needs.
